Delsie Williams Peebles

Delsie Marie Williams is the daughter of Floyd E. and Mabel Ward Williams, was born on July 7, 1931, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died on February 3, 2006, in Bremerton, Washington, and is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Bremerton, WA. The William Family moved to Vashon Island, WA in 1934 and then to Bremerton, WA in 1944. She was a commencement speaker when she graduated from Bremerton High School. She was employed by the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard prior to meeting her future husband of 53 years,
John R. Peebleswho was in the navy at that time. They had four children. As a Navy Family, they lived in Palo Alto, CA for a number of years where she was employed at the U.S. Postal Service. They finally settled in Bremerton where she retired in 1988 as a Supervisor for the Department of Social and Health Services.
Delsie was the Founder and Director of the Lord’s Neighborhood Diner, serving the less fortunate in the community with food and some clothing each Saturday and Sunday for over ten years.
