Argie Williams McKenzie
July 3rd, 1930 - December 7th, 1996
Argie Lee McKenzie is the daughter of Mabel ward Williams and Floyd E. Williams Sr. She was born in Grady, Arkansas, on July 3, 1930, and died on December 7, 1996, in Seattle, Washington, and is buried in Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, Washington.
Having arrived in Washington in 1934, she attended elementary schools on Vashon Island and in Renton. She graduated from Bremerton High School, then moved to Seattle where she graduated from Metropolitan Business College. She then worked as a secretary before being promoted to Executive Secretary and Office Manager positions. During her career, Argie was employed by the Federal Government, based in Seattle at Pier 91; The State Public Health Department; Law Offices of Charles Stokes; The University of Washington, Department of Business Administration; Seattle Model Cities Program; Office of Mayor, Berkeley, CA; City of Berkely Ombudsman; and the City of Macon, Georgia. She retired in Seattle from the City of Seattle, New Careers Program
In 1952 she married Charles P. Huey in Seattle, and from that union, their three daughters were born. She later married Herbert McKenzie in California.
