Gentry Ward, the first child of Katherine and Roscoe Ward, was born on September 7, 1946, in Seattle, Washington, and died on September 23, 2012, in Seattle.

 

He attended Garfield High School where he played on the football team and met his first wife; LaDonna Ward. They had two children: Patricia Alexander and Willie Ward. In the mid-1980s he met his second wife, Gwen, and from that union, one child was born: Katherine Ward. Somewhere in the 1980’s he met his longtime companion, Darlene, and from that union three children were born: Rekeya Moss, Gentry Ward Jr., and Georgia Robinson.

 

Gentry worked as a longshoreman until the mid-’70s when he started working for himself as a carpenter, mechanic, plumber, landscaper, and general contractor. He loved fishing, hunting, and working on cars.
